[CBS]  Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd, who was arrested Wednesday on federal drug charges, was a top drug dealer in Chicago and police have a list of NFL players who were supplied drugs by the receiver, a law enforcement source told 670 The Score. The list is “in the double-digits”, according to the source. According to the criminal complaint, Hurd told an undercover Homeland Security agent Wednesday night that he and another co-conspirator were already distributing four kilograms of cocaine a week in the Chicago area, but he needed more. He was seeking five to ten kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana a week to distribute and was willing to pay $25,000 per kilo of cocaine and $450 per pound of marijuana. That adds up to as much as $700,000 of drugs each week.

So apparently that 3-year/$5 million contract he inked with the Bears this off-season is ashtray money for Sam Hurd.  Granted, he’s going to jail but Hurd #81 jerseys are gonna peak now.  I mean how often is ‘professional athlete’ someone’s part-time job?  That’s fucking incredible.   (more…)

[The Local]  As Switzerland debates allowing gay and lesbian couples to adopt, a leading politician has caused consternation by comparing homosexuality to drug use. Last week the legal committee of the upper house, the Council of States, voted in favour of changing the law to make it easier for gay and lesbian couples to adopt. At the moment a single person can adopt regardless of sexual orientation, but single-sex couples cannot adopt nor can one partner adopt the other’s biological child. Christophe Darbellay, head of the center-right Christian Democrats (CVP) is deeply opposed to any change in the legislation governing adoption. He said he didn’t see why the law should be extended to include gay couples. “I wouldn’t suddenly legalize cocaine just because half a million people consume it,” he said to Le Temps newspaper last Friday. His comments have caused uproar. The Association for Rainbow Families said that it was “insulting” that Darbellay would “compare same-sex parents with cocaine addicts.” “His homophobia shocks us,” co-president Chatty Ecoffey told the 20 Minuten newspaper. “Darbellay is comparing two things that are simply not comparable,” Barbara Lanthemann of the Swiss lesbian organization LOS told the paper. Darbellay on Monday defended his statement. “I didn’t want to insult anyone. I simply wanted to say that just because something exists, does not mean that it has to be legalized,” he told 20 Minuten.

God dammit, no it’s not.  Sometimes.  Being gay & snorting cocaine are the same when it comes to things people should tell their sons not to do.  That’s just Good Parenting 101.  However, when it comes to things I’ve experimented with, they are polar opposites.   (more…)

[HuffPo]  Medicare probably didn’t cover this one. Michigan police arrested an 87-year-old man on Friday after he told authorities that he was forced “at gunpoint” to transport the 105 bricks of cocaine they found in the trunk of his pick-up truck. Authorities said that they asked Leo Earl Sharp to pull over after they noticed the Michigan City, Ind., senior-citizen veering out of his lane, according to the Detroit Free Press. When Sharp denied the trooper permission to search his truck, police brought a dog to the scene and quickly discovered the narcotics. In total, Sharp was transporting 228 pounds of cocaine. Estimated wholesale value: $2.9 million. “That is certainly a significant cocaine seizure,” Rich Isaacson, spokesman for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, told the Detroit News. On Monday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark Randon ordered Sharp released on bond. The Detroit News described the scene in the court room as “comical” and “one of the more colorful appearances in recent memory.” The newspaper explained that at one point the 87-year-old said he couldn’t hear the judge because he lost his hearing “in the war” and that he was unable to return to his home in Indiana because his passport was stolen. A criminal complaint issued by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency is “thin on details,” according to the Associated Press. It also remains unclear where Sharp was headed. Sharp is charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute.

Man Leo, why did you go and fuck that up? Jesus Christ, you’re probably the last person on this planet a narcotics agent would expect to mule coke and you couldn’t even pull it off. Shit Leo, why couldn’t you just stay at the PhotoHut and process some negatives all day? Seriously, leave it to the fucking amateurs to deliver coke and screw it all up. I’ve read enough of these articles to realize what you do and what you don’t do in these kind of situations. Has anyone else been watching Sons of Anarchy?  (more…)

[MSNBC]  Brazilian police have released X-ray images of an Irishman they allege swallowed dozens of cocaine capsules in an attempt to smuggle the drug out of Sao Paolo. The 20-year-old was arrested Monday at Sao Paolo’s Congonhas airport as he tried to board a flight to Lisbon, the Irish Independent reported Friday. He was en route to Brussels, the paper said. The medical images show 72 bags packed with the drug in his gastrointestinal tract. Police were alerted after authorities noticed his nervous behavior, according to media reports. They said the drugs would have been worth around 150,000 euros ($206,780). The man, who has only been identified as P.B.B., was reportedly taken to a hospital where the capsules, weighing a total of about two pounds, were removed from his body. It was unclear how this was achieved. He has been charged with international drug trafficking and could be jailed for up to 15 years, the Independent said.

I really couldn’t come up with a better title than that: it’s Monday – sue me. But all things aside, where in the drug trafficking totem pole do you have to get up one morning, swallow 72 bags of blow and then hop on an airplane?   (more…)

[MSNBC]  A 37-year-old woman under arrest and being escorted through the Lee County Jail was caught attempting to smuggle crack-cocaine into the facility on Saturday. Angela Lynn Palmer was being escorted by three deputies when she dropped a clear glass tube and then stated to deputies that she had additional items in her vagina. An orange cigar tube then fell from Palmer’s vagina to the floor next to her feet. An additional clear tube was also found. Inside the orange tube, deputies found two pieces of white rock, later identified as crack-cocaine. Both clear tubes contained residue that indicated they were used as crack pipes to smoke the crack-cocaine. Palmer had been arrested on Friday on charges of trespassing, counterfeit identification, drug possession, and tampering with evidence. She was additionally charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug equipment, and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.

I’ve felt sorry for drug addicts in the past…well, if Bubbles from The Wire counts I have.  Being as devastatingly handsome as I am, I always pity ugly people as well.  Here, we have both – but neither of which I feel any sympathy for.  You know who my heart goes out to?   (more…)
