[WPTV]  A teen was charged with her third DUI in three weeks, and police say that two of her arrests happened within two days. It’s a distinction nobody would want to have, but police say 18-year-old Kimberly McCarthy now has on her record: Three mug shots in 17 days for the same crime. McCarthy was charged with three separate DUI’s between February 24th and March 11th.  Arrest reports show two of those arrests happened within two days. “Her last one culminated with her crashing in to the back of a brand new car that had only been on the road a couple of weeks,” said Tampa Police Sergeant Ray Fernandez. The arrests have caught the attention of members of Hillsborough County’s Mothers Against Drunk Driving. “This apparently is one teenager who doesn’t get it,” said Linda Unfried of M.A.D.D.  “She should not be driving, she should be someplace where she’s getting serious help.” According to arrest reports, alcohol only played a role in one of McCarthy’s three arrests. “From what it appears, she likes to drink very little,” Fernandez said.  “Most of what she’s doing is narcotics, she’s smoking marijuana.” McCarthy is currently free on $3,000 dollars bond.  She’s expected to appear in court Monday on her first DUI charge.

Hahaha these mug shots are awesome.  #1 – Fuck off.  #2 – Are you kidding me?  Again?  #3 – Waaahhh, help me!  I guess Kimberly learned the hard way that it’s not all that glorious being Lindsay Lohan.  It’s also not that easy.  I mean check out Lohan’s mugs.  Bitch doesn’t look rattled one bit over the span of a couple years while Kim here cracks in less than 3 weeks.   (more…)

[Sentinel] A Middlesex Township woman faces DUI charges after police said she was riding her motorized wheelchair in a mobile home park while intoxicated this morning. Middlesex Township police said they received a report that a woman was crawling around a yard in the Country Manor mobile home park at 4:23 a.m. When police arrived, they found Connie Lebo, 63, sitting in her motorized wheelchair and drunk, according to police. Lebo told police she had been driving the wheelchair around the mobile home park when she crashed and started to bleed, police said. Lebo told police she then tried to cut through a yard and flipped the wheelchair over, according to police. Lebo was taken to the Carlisle Regional Medical Center and submitted to a blood test, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of .16 percent or higher, according to police.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve probably said it at least twice, women do not belong behind the wheel. Or on top of wheels as the case may be. Pretty much being attached or near any sort of wheeled, motorized apparatus of any kind is a bad idea. But it really takes a special kind of cretin to be able to pull this stunt off. (more…)

[WTSP]  Idaho authorities say a mother and daughter were arrested for drunken driving within an hour of each other — the mother when she went to pick up her daughter’s dog. The Post Register reports a sheriff’s officer stopped 28-year-old Alisha Gardner at 10:56 p.m. Saturday in Idaho Falls after spotting her car swerving and crossing the centerline. Sgt. Jeff Edwards says her blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit, so Gardner was taken to jail. Just under an hour later, 51-year-old Diana Gardner arrived to pick up her daughter’s dog, which was in the car. An officer smelled alcohol on her and a test revealed that her blood-alcohol level was also twice the legal limit, so she was arrested. The report did not say what happened to the dog.

I remember when I got my DWI.  Just a fresh-faced 21 year-old years deep in the booze game, cruising home at 2am against the friendly advice of taking the back roads and boom – literally 7 squad cars just chillin’ in the 7-11 parking lot to my right.  In my infinite wisdom, I knew I had to roll through the stop sign ahead and get away from this pig pen ASAP.  Well, Suffolk County’s finest either saw me roll right through or, more likely, saw my piece of shit pickup truck with the “Don’t Be A Dick” sticker on it and were just playing roshambo to see who was gonna pull me over.   (more…)

Rodney King & The Police Are At It Again

[KTLA]  Rodney King has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. No word on what substance King was allegedly under at the time of the arrest. In 1991, King became a symbol of police brutality after being beaten by four LAPD officers after a police chase through the San Fernando Valley. King has not been a stranger to law enforcement or substance abuse in the years since the incident.

In May 1991, he was arrested on suspicion of trying to run over a vice officer who allegedly found him with a transvestite prostitute in Hollywood, but no charges were filed. In 1992, King was arrested for DUI, but again no charges were filed. In 1993, King entered an alcohol rehabilitation program and was placed on probation after crashing his vehicle into a block wall in downtown Los Angeles with a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit. He was arrested for DUI again in May 1995 in Pennsylvania. He was tried and acquitted. In July 1995, he was arrested by Alhambra police, who alleged that he hit his wife with his car, knocking her to the ground. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of hit and run. In, September 2001 King was arrested in Claremont and charged with being under the influence of the psychedelic drug PCP. He was also arrested in 2005 after he allegedly threatening his daughter and ex-girlfriend. Then in 2007, King told authorities he was sprayed with pellets from a shotgun while riding his bicycle near the border of San Bernardino and Rialto. Rialto police, who were the first to respond, said King was intoxicated when they arrived and that it was difficult to decipher what had happened. No suspects were ever found.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, Rodney.  20 years & $3.8 million bucks later and you’re still having run-ins with the fuzz?  I guess it’s true when they say you can take the brotha out the hood but you can’t take the hood out the brotha.  I don’t know who said that, but it’s not important.  What’s also not important is that he either kinda looks like Cutty from The Wire or I’m a closet racist who thinks all black people look alike. What is interesting though is to think about this dude’s last 20 years since he involuntarily pioneered the movement of recorded beatdowns that’s now a staple of the information superhighway.   (more…)

I just wanted to call your attention to a pretty great battle going on in the comments section of a post from a couple of weeks ago. As I’m sure you remember, I wrote about a guy who had Cerebral Palsy and ran over a dog, got pulled over by the cops and failed the field sobriety tests. Since it ends up he wasn’t drunk, just acting like a drunk, he feels entitled to millions of dollars. Ends up, Garry has a friend who is not a fan of my particular writing style. Honestly, I’m tickled pink. I feel like you haven’t really made it as an inappropriate blogger until you have a group of people that are so offended by what you’ve written that they go on a two day comment battle just to make it clear how much of an asshole you are. Well, it seems my particular nemesis is going to be Cerebral Palsy.

For those of you that don’t feel like sifting through all the comments, here are some of my favorite parts of the debate: (more…)

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Lenoir City man has filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the Loudon County sheriff after he said he was mistakenly arrested when deputies mistook his cerebral palsy symptoms for drunkenness.

According to the lawsuit filed last month in Loudon County, 59-year-old Garry Palmer accuses the sheriff, three deputies and a court clerk of false arrest, failure to train officers, malicious prosecution and a constitutional rights violation. County Attorney Bob Bowman declined to comment to the Knoxville News Sentinel and Sheriff Tim Guider didn’t return a call seeking comment.

The lawsuit said that Palmer reported to police that he had accidentally struck a dog that darted in front of his pickup truck in May 2010. Police reported that Palmer was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech and had difficultly performing field sobriety tests. Palmer said in his lawsuit that he tried to explain these were conditions of his cerebral palsy.

“Everybody eventually figured out, ‘Hey, this guy has cerebral palsy and you can’t arrest someone for driving with a medical condition,'” Moncier said.

Garry Palmer said the arrest has embarrassed him.

“I’ve never been to jail in my life,” he said. “I’ve never been in trouble in my life.”

I am one thousand percent on the cop’s side with this one. I could be wrong, but don’t you think that it being illegal to drive drunk has less to do with the fact that you’ve ingested liquid and more to do with fact that you can’t operate a motor vehicle? Like, if being drunk didn’t fuck up your reaction time and motor skills it obviously wouldn’t be illegal to drink and drive. So forgive me for being a little insensitive here, but if having cerebral palsy can be mistaken for being drunk, what the hell is the difference? Seems to me like it should be just as illegal to drive while spastic. (more…)

Oh for fucks sake will someone please scratch his itchy nuts already? At least give him a taser shot to the nuggets, that’d be fair. Serious question, is this real life or an outtake from Super Troopers? Because I didn’t realize cops had a sense of humor in real life. Rabbit and Mac here are obviously just busting this guys balls (sorry about the pun) for their own amusement. And talk about a lousy day for my man Yukon Cornelius. I bet when he woke up in his tent this morning, he never thought he’d catch crabs and a DUI in the same day. Sucks dude.
